Hey!
It seems there ain't much time left of the holidays in singapore, haven't got the chance to blog much cos I'm trying to do lotsa stuff lol. At least less blogging means more outing :)
Now, where to start..?
Fri- Last day of dental attachment. Had dinner at Mos Burger which was just so-so. What's the hype abt it?
Sat- I slept in til 11am that morning, just to make up for the lack of sleep during the week of attachment. And it felt uber refreshing, like always hehe. Uncle and aunt brought us to umm Causeway Point(I think) for Dimsum at Crystal Jade restaurant! Then we shopped a bit here and there, and before I knew it time flew and it was like 4pm when I reached home. We planned to make pineapple tarts together that afternoon, but I thought it would've started at 1pm instead of 4pm. I had to miss out on making them cos I already planned to meet Jiankai at 5pm. So rushrushrush I rmb, but I was still dead punctual :D
Jiankai brought me to Haji Lane in Bugis, my first time there, never heard of the place, and I love it! It's this long stretch of small lane with "vintage" buildings on the side. There were lots of random, funky shops and boutiques, arabian cafes, tons of shishas, graffiti walls etc. It's hell different from the rest of singapore, which I thought was so unique and lovely! :)
After having dinner and dessert and taking lotsa photos at Haji Lane, we cabbed to Somerset to watch a local gig. Jiankai used to organise some bands to perform there, so he wanted to show me some of them. We went there so late, like I think it was at 9pm so we missed out half of it cos we were busy shopping away before in Bugis lol. And the songs were alright to me, some quite nice but some quite strange. hahaha I noticed that many singaporeans looked pretty weird when they dance and rock out. Hrmm hummm. Anyway, it was definitely a good night :) Thx to Haji Lane lol.
Sun- East Coast Park!! The very first cousin outing(apart from meeting annually every CNY) from my dad's side. They're all older than us, so it was Daoxun, Fei Jun, Yan Ting, Me, Ben. We went cycling and rollerblading for abt 2hrs!! Just so happen, tht day was real hot! Normally, singapore's sky is fully clouded but tht day I could see the blue in the sky. Therefore, I got a little burnt on my back. Fortunately, while we bladed and cycled, it was really nice and windy. Very crowded at the park, but the place is huge. We passed by the new and big lagoon which is specially designed for machined water skiing. It's quite cool! They stand on the board, and hold on to the rod which is pulled by a cable high above. Plus there's lots of ramps to go do stunts with!
Anyway, after all the cycling, my butt did hurt. Haven't rode much ever since the magpie attack! We went to the coffeebean just to chill afterwards and I enjoyed chatting with them all. We never really had this kinda bonding time together, so it was especially nice today.
But we did get too carried away with chatting, and I had to quickly rush over to orchard when we finished at abt 4.15pm or sth. Supposed to meet Chengqian and his exchange buddy from China for the movie Red Cliff 2! I was so late =.= They were both very nice abt it, phew. We went to watch Red Cliff 2 at Lido in Shaw House. The cinema was freaking huge! Grarhhh so big man, the stairs that led all the way up. Btw, the movie was very good! I likee it, all the war strategies and action and charming actors. It's worth watching!
When the movie ended, I think the sky was dark so orchard rd was very nice. Filled with people and lights from all directions, we just walked around and took lotsa photos like tourists. Hahh the only real local is Chengqian. Then it was funny how I had some communication problems with Derryk cos he speaks Chinese so fast, and it's like China chinese zzz. He also speaks his english so fast I can't catch the words lol. Then chengqian was standing there laughing at us and showing off his bilingual skills hahaha poooo.
We had dinner at 9pm or later in fact. We took away Subway to the esplanade rooftop to eat while looking at the city skyline. I must say the sandwiches I make beat the one I ate today, definitely one cos the chicken wasn't fully cooked. Blehhhhh. Okay lah.
Quite a tiring but really enjoyable and well-filled day :)
Haha I reached home at 11pm or sth and I still watched tv til 3am in the morning. Uhh me no self control, stupid.
Today- Awoke at 9am to go out with Jamaica. Supposed to meet at 11am but she woke up at 10.45am and she lives like 45mins away from our meeting place. Hymph nvm. We collected our identification card together, and went off to simei. I collected my new pair of glasses in simei, bought bits of random nice stuff, and another lot of stationary from popular. So I have completed all stationary shopping finallY! We had lunch at Burger King(the equiv of Hungry Jacks in perth), I ordered a Mushroom Swiss Burger and it was soo nice! Yummm yum.
Okay, make this description of today all snappy cos we went to many places. It was so funny cos both of us were aching in all sorts of places from today. Neck, back, shoulder, thighs, feet. Hahaha. Seriously, I've walked so much in singapore already. My legs constantly feel almost overused.
Anywayyy, we went from simei to suntec city. Thought there'll be many shops but turned out not quite the case. It was highly limited I reckon. More housing and electronics all mixed in together. So we went off to orchard to shop. But wrong choice of place once again cos everything's so expensive there. We didn't even step into takashimaya cos I told her that almost every shop in there was branded and she was like, Ok skip it. Lol. Went into wisma, tangs, lucky plaza and dunno where else. We did buy stuff here and there tho, so it was still considered unwasted a trip.
After giving up on shopping in this rich area of the city, we decided to check out Plaza singapura just a couple train stations away. It turned out to be quite a good place to shop actually! We caught some sales and bought bought away.
So basicallly, both of us returned home with so many shopping bags full of stuff that wasn't quite on our list of "important things to buy from singapore". Haha that ALWAYS happens grr! Until now, I still can't find a ball gown. And so without it I can't find matching shoes and clutch and accessories. Wth, I'm so last-minute..
Okay yeah, so now I'm warming up to singapore cos I discover many new cool places and it's nice meeting up with lots of people. Unlike the first 2 weeks here where it was my nightmare and homesickness. I guess I was overwhelmed by the lack of freedom, the adjustments to many things, the tight schedule of meeting relatives and family friends day and night, my stuffed up face and hair, the wrong places mum brought me to shop at etc etc.
Now it's cool :) As I find my own way around, spending more than ten bucks on transport every week, I'm having alot more fun!
Tmr...
Meeting with Keziah!
We're going to orchard. LOl again! For the third day in a row. Still hoping to find a ball gown there that's kinda why.
But looking forward more to going to Chinatown after. I haven't been there this year yet, can't wait to see what it's like.
OK I better catch some sleep. I didn't watch Hot Shot tonight so I can blog and facebook and stuff. Hot Shot is very nice! Jerry Yen, Show Luo and Wu Zun. All the hotties make the show rock. It's centred around basketball, but I think I'm centering around Jerry Yen lol! He's still as hot as ever though he's older already. Dimples when he smiles aww.
okok sleeeeeeeep.
